SUMMIT REPORT, Gangtok 09 Jan: Akshay Sachdeva, who yesterday took charge as the Director General of Police, Sikkim, called on Governor Om Prakash Mathur at Raj Bhavan today, a press release informs. The Governor congratulated Mr Sachdeva and wished him a successful tenure.
During the meeting, the Governor expressed his deep concern regarding the growing prevalence and accessibility of drugs among the youth in the state, identifying it as a significant threat to the future of society, the release adds.
He expressed confidence under Mr Sachdeva, Sikkim Police will adopt effective measures to combat this issue.
The DGP, it is informed, assured the Governor of his commitment to performing his duties with the highest level of dedication and integrity. He emphasized his determination to ensure the strict enforcement of law and order throughout the state.
