14 test positive,13 others discharged

Gangtok, 07 Jan: Sikkim recorded 14 new cases of COVID-19 from 392 tests conducted in the last
24 hours ending 8 am Thursday. Of the new cases, 10 were reported in East, 02 each in West
and South Sikkim. There are now 465 active cases of COVID-19 in the state with the total tally reaching
5965. Meanwhile, 13 persons were discharged taking the total number of discharged to 5276.
Currently, there are 04 COVID patients in the ICU facility of STNM hospital and no new deaths have
been reported. So far the state has conducted 70,151 COVID tests. In the daily health bulletin, State Health IEC Officer, Sonam G Bhutia informed that out of 296 RTPCR tests conducted, 10 returned positive while 04 of the 86 samples tested via Rapid Antigen Testing returned positive. All 10 samples
tested via Truenat returned negative. Among the 10 who tested positive via RTPCR, two are from Singtam Sirwani GP company quarters, one from Upper Shyari below ICDS, one from Daragaon
below HDFC building, one from Namnang [containment zone], one from Lower Shyari near ICDS, one
from STNM quarters, one from Majhigaon, one from Pakyong and one from Metro Point Tadong below Hyundai showroom. Among those tested via RAT, two are from Hee Bazaar, West Sikkim and two tested at CRH Tadong are from Central Pendam, Duga and Metro Point Tadong below ITBP Camp. Mr Bhutia informed that one person who tested positive for COVID remains untraceable since Wednesday and this has compelled the department to release the name of the person. He said that one 44-year-old woman Rup Maya Subba of Daramdin, West Sikkim, has been untraceable and she should immediately
contact the Health Department
