16 new cases and no Covid deaths in Sikkim in past24 hrs
Gangtok, 10 Nov:
Sikkim recorded 16 fresh cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours taking the state’s tally of confirmed cases to 32,074. These 16 cases were picked up from the testing of 507 samples giving Sikkim a daily test positivity rate to 3.1%.
As per the Daily Report of COVID-19 in Sikkim released by the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme of Health Department, 11 cases were detected in RT-PCR testing of 316 samples and five in rapid antigen testing of 189 samples.
While nine of the cases were registered in East District where 332 samples were screened, six of the 77 samples tested in South District returned positive and only one of the 80 samples tested in West District returned positive. All 18 samples tested in North Sikkim returned negative for Covid.
No Covid death was reported in the past 24 hours and the toll continues to hold at 400.
Meanwhile, Sikkim’s count of recovered cases inched up to 31,217 with 13 people making full recoveries and getting discharged from home isolation yesterday.
There are currently 124 active Covidcases in the State of whom only 16 are with symptoms severe enough to require hospitalisation. There is only one Covid patient in ICU in Sikkim.
On Tuesday, 780 people received the Covishieldvaccine, 746 completing their vaccination schedule with the second dose and 34 receiving their first jab.
