2 new cases take Sikkim's cumulative Covid count to 39,122
Gangtok, 21 Mar:
Sikkim’s daily test positivity rate came in at 1.7% on Monday with two Covid cases, both in East district, picked up from the screening of 120 samples in the past 24 hours.
As per the Daily Report of Covid-19 in Sikkim released by the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme of Health Department, both cases were picked up in RT-PCR testing of 66 samples, while all the 54 samples put through rapid antigen testing returned negative. Sikkim's tally of confirmed cases of Covid-19 since testing began on 28 Feb, 2020, now stands at 39,122.
In the meantime, the State's count of recovered cases continues to hold at 37,910 with no new recoveries reported in the past 24 hours. Currently, there are 17 active cases of Covid in the State, only two of whom are in hospital and the rest recovering under home isolation.
Sikkim's Covid death toll also continues to hold at 449 with no Covid death reported in the past 24 hours. The last Covid death in Sikkim was on 18 March.
