Gangtok, 14 Sept:
Forget Jhalak Dikhla Jaa – how about Dancing with the Students? Flash mobs have been popping up all around the world of late, so it’s no surprise that college students across the country are joining in on the craze. In a unique promotional strategy, the students of National Institute of Technology, Sikkim, conducted flash mobs across different locations in Sikkim and Darjeeling to promote their Annual Tech Fest, ‘Ahiyantran 16’. Students from the college promoted the fest by performing to popular foot-tapping English and Hindi numbers.
On 14 September, the NIT students displayed a synchronized and well choreographed flash mob to promote their tech fest at M.G Marg, Gangtok. They also presented a skit, ‘Protecting Girl Chilld’. The college had performed flash mobs for the previous two installments of its tech fest too.
The technical fest of NIT Sikkim, ‘Abhiyantran 16’ is scheduled to go on floors from 15 September to 17 September. This year the fest will have again comprehensive talks from renowned personalities and workshops on Seismic design of Buildings, Internal Combustion Engines, Internet of Things, and Ethical Hacking during its three-day long run. This year the college has dedicated the fest’s theme as a tribute to Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Azad and his incredible contribution for the development of modern science in the country.
