Sikkim Amateur Taekwondo Association felicitates its martial artists for Thimpu conquest


Gangtok, 06 June:

Sikkim Amateur Taekwondo Association [SATA] felicitated it martial artists today for their outstanding performances at the recently concluded 03rd International Taekwondo Kyorugi and 02nd International Taekwondo Poomsae Championship held in Thimpu, Bhutan.

SATA chief coach, Trilok Subba, congratulated the players for their splendid performances saying, “I must say, they played very well. They put their best effort in the championship and the end result is beyond satisfying. I wish them good fortune for their future battles”.

24 SATA players representing India, participated in the championship which had more than 600 players from India, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.

Trilok Subba, Amit Pradhan, Pradeep Mukhia, Sabina Sundas, Sudersan Giri, and Lahzyala Tamang had each won gold medals for their performances.

Similarly Priyadarshini Jyoti Bania, Pema Gyacho Sherpa, Amit Pradhan, Saurav Biswakarma, Devyswar Prasad, Gokarna Chettri and Nimesh Chettri bagged silver medals in their respective categories.

The Bronze medalists were Sabina Sundas, Priyadarshini Jyoti Bania, Alon Subba, Asmita Rai, Sandhya Kumari Gupta, Lahzyala Tamang, Aditi Dhakal and Bidhya Gurung.

The team was led by coach Suman Tamang, manager Pawan Kr Subba, and included referees Vijay Gurung and Sanjay Subba. The felicitation function was also attended by the parents of the players and the members of SATA.
