The two-day college fest, ‘Anu Naad’, of Government College Kamrang wrapped up today with Human Resource Development Minister, RB Subba, attending as the chief guest and Roads and Bridges Minister, GM Gurung as the special guest.
The fest organised was organized by the Student Representative Council of the college in coordination with college administration and featured cultural performances by the students along with a string of competitions ranging from singing, elocution, talent hunt, fashion show, painting, essay writing and a half marathon.
Addressing the function, the HRD Minister urged students to embrace positivity develop an inquisitive mind.
He appreciated the work of the SRC members and applauded the college administration for organizing the event.
Mr Subba also assured to fulfill all the demands like UGC affiliation, improved road connectivity and assistance for running college hostel and staff quarters from the next session inwards.
Minister Roads & Bridges, GM Gurung said that the state government is always looking for opportunities to establish premier institutes in the state. He also urged the students to be proactive in every field and activities of the college.
He also stressed on the value of time and assured to put forth the demands placed by the college with the concerned authorities.
SRC President, Prakash Subba in his address thanked Chief Minister Pawan Chamling for his support and financial assistance due to which the fest was organised. He thanked the college administration for their support in organizing the fest.
The function was also addressed by Director Higher Education, DK Pradhan.
Adhoc lecturers of Namchi Government College and SRC members were also felicitated by the ministers. The SRC members also felicitated Mingma Sherpa and hand over financial support to Khangchendzonga Smart City Society of Tinzir which was collected by students and staffs of Kamrang College. Later, Minister RB Subba also extended financial support to this society.
