Evelyn, still in love with Sikkim

Gangtok, 25 Jun:

Actress Evelyn Sharma of "Yaariyaan" and "Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani" fame was recently in the capital to join the

sixth anniversary celebrations of Casino Mahjong.

"This is my second time in Sikkim. I fell in love with Sikkim during my first visit here to shoot for Yaariyaan," she said.

She appreciated the Organic farming model adopted in the state and expressed hope that more states will follow suit.

"I can see the difference from my last visit till now. There has been a lot a development," she said.

She also held that low crime rate; safety of women and tourist friendly policies in the state makes it “one of my favorite places".

"Sikkim is clean, green and beautiful," she said.

She also hopes to shoot her future movies in Sikkim.

On the local cuisine, she said that she has tried "some outstanding momos."

When enquired about her journey into modeling and acting she said, “It was out of nowhere around 9 to 10 years ago I was spotted as a model in MySpace which led to a worldwide contract.”

Evelyn, perhaps because of her mixed Indian and German heritage, can speak in German, English, Hindi, French and Dutch.

Her forthcoming projects include an untitled movie with actor Amit Sadh and a cameo appearance in Shah Rukh Khan-Anuskha Sharma starer “When Harry met Sejal.”
