11 South students get scholarship in Siliguri's North Point Residential School


Namchi, 04 Jul:

South District Administration recently conducted an examination to select students for a merit based scholarship programme wherein the selected students would get admission in North Point Residential School, Siliguri.

Students who scored 70% above in their class X boards were shortlisted to appear for the examination. Eleven students made it to the final list with 05 Below Poverty Line (BPL) students willing to join the programme.

Junita Gurung and Arju Thapa from Namchi Girls Senior Secondary School, Benai Chettri from Lingmoo Senior Secondary School, Chungki Bhutia from Pabung Secondary School and Lungthen Lepcha from Yangang Senior Secondary School have confirmed that they will join North Point Residential School in Siliguri under the scholarship programme.

A normal North Point Residential School student has to pay Rs 2,50,000 every year but under the scholarship programme the selected students would not have to pay school fee for the next two years. The school will also provide free foundation courses to the students to compete in engineering test after class XII.
