According to West and East District Administration, there is adequate stock of essential commodities and fuel in both the districts.

In a press release, East District Administration has said that as per the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, the stock position of all essential commodities is normal and the rates of vegetables and food grains have been regulated. The Sub Divisional Magistrates and Block Development Officers have been continuously inspecting bazaars and monitoring the situation in their respective jurisdictions.

Meanwhile, vehicular movement along NH-10 has also returned to normalcy and there is free movement of private carriers and trucks into the district, informs the release.

The West District Administration has also communicated through a press release that the stock position of ration shops has been found to be sufficient. No malpractices and illegal hoarding have been reported since the District Administration alerted the Station Head Officers to conduct frequent inspection of bazaars in the district.

“The fuel stock and supply in the district has also seen significance improvement,” informs the release further adding that the fuel stock available in the district should be enough for the next 10 days.

However, rationing of fuel and gas will continue for now till the situation fully normalizes. The DC has thanked the departments of West district, police personnel, Sub Divisional Magistrates, Block Developmental Officers, and the public for their efforts.
