Innerwheel Club of Gangtok is Sikkim’s leading women’s organisation. It has been actively involved in various projects centered on women, children and underprivileged section of the society since 2000.

The 17th Installation Ceremony of the Club was held at a local hotel in Gangtok with great enthusiasm on 05 Jul with District Chairperson of District 324, Mira Oberoi, who is also a founder member of the club, as chief guest.

The programme featured the passing on of the baton from the existing team led by Dr Neeti Nepal to a new team led by Suman Oberoi.

Mira Oberoi expressed her ideas and goals for the year 2017-18 for the whole district. Outgoing president, Dr Neeti Nepal thanked her team and the members for their support and cooperation.

Outgoing secretary, Deepti Oberoi, presented an overview of the projects undertaken during the year. The major projects were Ignite - an inter college competition, Udaan - an inter school competition, Happy School, Joy of Reading - setting up libraries in government schools, Kavach- self defense for women, cancer awareness and screening camps, and summer camp among many others.

The new president, Suman Oberoi, introduced her team for the year 2017-18 and outlined her vision for the year.

She called upon the members for their support to keep contributing to society by organizing various service projects.
