Dancer Mingma D Lepcha on life after Dance plus

Sikkim’s dancing star, Mingma D Lepcha, was recently in the capital to attend the Miss Sikkim 2017 event. After leaving his mark at the reality dance show Dance plus, Mingma has now started choreographing songs in movies and has several projects coming up.

While speaking to SummitTimes, the Sikkimese star said, “People’s love and support has been constant. I couldn’t have asked for more.”

Among his recent projects, his choreography in the Nepali film Darpan Chaya 2 has met with wide appreciation from the audience.

“I hope people will like my work in Sikkim. I am very happy with the response abroad,” he says.

Darpan Chaya 2 has not yet released in Sikkim and Darjeeling.

Performing all over the country and the State, Mingma has not only carved a unique identity as a dancer but has also given Sikkim’s name a resonance.

“Many people are unfamiliar with Sikkim outside. I feel honoured that through me many came to know about my beautiful State,” he remarked.

He is also slated to perform in an upcoming dance related show on a national channel which will be announced officially later.

“Mumbai is a dream city where your dreams do come true. I am rock solid in my determination and my dream did come true when my hard work paid off in Dance plus,” says Mingma.

However, at the home front, he is most excited about Sikkim’s upcoming dance competition Sikkim’s Dancing Icon-Season 1 where he will be a part of the judges panel.

“The auditions will be held throughout the State. So be prepared,” he has appealed to all dancers.
