Gangtok, 30 Jul:

The upcoming fourth season of the Indian Super League is all set to witness the spectacular debut (in the tournament) of Sikkim-born defender, Nim Dorjee Tamang who has been recently signed by FC Pune City to play in the fourth season of the popular franchise league, Indian Super League 2017.

“I am very excited as well as nervous. I have been waiting my entire career for an opportunity like this, and finally when the moment has arrived, I am having all sorts of emotions all at once. I am happy, excited, and nervous and at the same time pumped up about this,” shares Nim Dorjee.

When asked about whether he had seen it coming, he says that he had a ‘feeling’ that it would happen this season.

“After my I-League performance I think I hit the right chord. There was appreciation pouring in from everywhere but to be signed to represent a hugely respected club as this is phenomenal,” the pumped up defender adds.

Nim Dorjee has come a long way since his debut I-League appearance for Lajong FC in 2015 against Royal Wahingdoh. In total, Nim Dorjee has won 37 I-League caps and the last few matches have seen the youngster lead the team as captain, winning several games and establishing a stellar record.

The 2017/18 Indian Super League season is the fourth season of the popular franchise league since its establishment in 2014. Bengaluru FC and Jamshedpur FC are the new teams that have joined the league in its expansion. This makes it the first edition of the ISL where more than eight teams will be participating.

ISL is schedule to kick off on 01 Oct.
