The first batch of Sailors from Sikkim in the Indian Navy returned home on 31 Jul after serving in the Indian Naval Service for 15 years. Twelve sailors from different parts of the state, have served the nation and retired from the Naval service.
During the last fifteen years, these men served onboard various warships, aircraft carriers and establishments. In addition, they also represented their country as a goodwill ambassador on numerous occasions in different countries. These energetic young personnel had shown high degree of professionalism and put in exemplary service, which has paved the way for a better future for aspirants of the state and its neighbors.
Being the first batch to join the Indian Navy from Sikkim, they represented and bore the flag of the state and have set an example in terms of discipline, integrity, credibility, professionalism and devotion towards duty.
