Sikkim vehicles being forced into CRPF duty in Siliguri, SKM alleges

Gangtok, 31 Jul:

Sikkim Krantikari Morcha has alleged that the West Bengal administration was forcibly acquiring Sikkim-registered vehicles for CRPF duty in Siliguri.

On the same, the party has demanded that the Sikkim government immediately take appropriate action against this to give justice to Sikkim drivers.

An SKM press release issued by its general secretary, Birendra Tamling, informs that the party has been receiving complaints that the WB police have been threatening Sikkim drivers with impounding and other measures to get them to provide their vehicles for CRPF duty.

The release contends that outside vehicles have never been used in such manner in Sikkim and has questioned who will responsibility in case of any mishap.
