Rising water level poses threat to JNV School Rohtak
In view of the concerns raised by Rohtak's JNV School administration and students regarding the threat posed by the Dans Energy Pvt. Ltd dam water, a team under the direction and supervision of Area MLA-cum-Minister of Health and IPR, AK Ghatani, visited and inspected the JNV premises yesterday.
Mr Ghatani was accompanied by Sub Divisional Magistrate-Soreng, Gais Pega, Sub Divisional Police Officer-Soreng, RR Chettri, Station House Officer-Nayabazar, Bijendra Thapa, Vice President-DANS Pvt. Ltd, Mr Thakur, alongside the school representatives, school administration and JNV students.
Mr Ghatani, after assessing the damage caused by the swelling of Rangit River to the school infrastructure particularly the Boys Hostel premises, gave a patient hearing to the appeals of both the students and the school administrators.
He has called for immediate action against the alarming rise in the level of river water through construction of protective wall and provision of temporary accommodation for the students of school under standard safety norms and guidelines. He also instructed the concerned body to address the issue immediately in order to avert any untoward incident in the days to come.
During the discussion, it was also observed that the students have demanded a written assurance of fulfillment of all safety measures by Dans Energy Pvt. Ltd by 12 Aug following which the students will intensify their ongoing strike.
The Dans representative present assured to look into all the needs of the students and stated that the issue has already been placed before the higher authorities.
