Sikkim Football Association’s B-Division Sikkim League 2017 kicked off here at Paljor Stadium on Sunday.
In the opening match of the league, Unicorn Football Club came up from behind to beat Brotherhood Football Club 2-1.
With the help of Sanjay Rai’s goal in the 28th minute, Brotherhood FC finished the first half with 1-0 lead. In the second half, Bikash Pradhan scored the equaliser for Unicorn FC in the 56th minute and in the 61st minute, his teammate Yogyal Lepcha extended the lead to 2-1.
With no more goals further in the match, Unicorn FC started with a win in the league.
On Monday, SAI Namchi will take on Pendam Football Academy in the second match of the league. Five teams are in the fray in the second division this year.
