BIHARI JAGRAN MANCH COLLECTS AID AND RELIEF FOR FLOOD VICTIMS


Singtam, 20 Aug:

The number of deaths in flood in Bihar rose to 153 today while those marooned in 17 districts of the state crossed the one crore mark even as the Army was called in for relief and rescue operations in deluge-hit eastern Uttar Pradesh districts adjoining Nepal.

The state governments are yet to fully utilize funds meant for relief and rehabilitation, however, Singtam Bihari Jagran Manch has already started collecting funds to help the victims of the flood.

The members of Bihari Jagran Manch, Singtam Branch from 19 Aug started a camp at Mandi Bazaar in Singtam to collect funds for flood victims.

“We live in India and we have to be there for each other in difficult times. We have to help in every way possible,” manch president, Dilip Prasad said.

The caravan from Sikkim ferrying aid and relief to Bihar is scheduled to leave on 21 Aug.
