Yuksam resident in Limca Book of Records

Yuksam, 21 Aug:

32-year-old Nawang Gyatsho Bhutia of Yuksam, West Sikkim has recorded his name in the Limca Book of Records for managing to get 95 different species of butterflies to perch on his fingers.

Nawang is also the president of Butterflies and Moths of Sikkim [BAMOS] and has been conducting research on butterflies since the past seven years.​

​While speaking to SummitTimes, Nawang said, “This record and achievement has added more energy and positivity towards my love for butterflies. I will continue to give more knowledge about butterflies to the world. Research on butterflies and butterfly watching will also act as a booster for tourism in the State of Sikkim. We are focusing on tourism and want butterfly watching to be another tourism activity in the State.”
