SKM announces relay hunger strike demanding CBI investigation

Gangtok, 14 Sept:

Sikkim Krantikari Morcha has announced a relay hunger strike from 15-19 Sept at the District Administrative Centre premises demanding CBI investigation into corruption cases in Sikkim. The party has appealed to people and different organisations to participate in the hunger strike for the future generation of Sikkim.

Meanwhile, the party has questioned the credibility of One World Award recently received by Chief Minister Pawan Chamling in Germany. The party has also questioned on the credibility of the organisation which has presented the award.

Addressing a press conference here today, SKM spokesperson, Jacob Khaling, raised doubts about the credibility of the award and the organization that conferred it.

Mr Khaling alleged that news of the award did not appear in any local newspaper in Germany nor in any other national and international media.

He further demanded that the name of the person who nominated the CM’s name for the award should be made public and if any donations were made to the organization, the state government should make that public too.
