Two retirements lead to five transfers in top bureaucracy


Gangtok, 28 Dec:

The state government transferred five top bureaucrats today with a view to streamline the administration following the completion of the tenure of two technocrats whose service was extended beyond their age of superannuation.

GT Bhutia, Principal Chief Engineer cum Secretary of Urban Development & Housing Department, whose service was extended last year for a period of one year comes to an end on 31 December. Similarly, the services of Principal Chief Engineer cum Secretary of Tourism, Chewang Zangpo Bhutia, which was also extended for one year is also ending.

Vijay Bhusan Pathak, Principal Secretary in the state government presently holding two major departments Planning, Development & Northeast Council Affairs Department and Finance, Revenue and Expenditure department has been given additional charge of Information and Technology Department.

Puneet Kansal, Commissioner cum Secretary of Food Security and Agriculture Development Department has been posted as Secretary Tourism and Civil Aviation Department with effect from January 2018.

LB Chettri, Secretary of Animal Husbandry, Livestock Fisheries & Veterinary Department has been transferred and posted as Secretary Urban Development & Housing Department.

Dr. Kumar Bhandari, who was transferred and posted as Secretary from his parent department few months back to Information and Technology Department is once again transferred and posted as Secretary, Animal Husbandry, Livestock Fisheries & Veterinary Department.

Khorlo Bhutia, Principal Director cum Secretary, Horticulture & Cash Crops Development Department has been given additional charge of Food Security and Agriculture Development Department replacing Puneet Kansal.
