Abhishek Gupta wraps up 1,500 KMS run to Delhi

Gangtok, 24 Jan:

22-year-old marathoner from Sikkim, Abhishek Prasad Gupta has covered almost 1,530 KMs from Gangtok to Sikkim Bhawan in Delhi on foot to spread awareness about Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Swachh Bharat campaign.

Abhishek Prasad Gupta, who started his solo marathon on 29 Dec wrapped up his run at Sikkim Bhawan in Delhi after 27 days. Abhishek was accompanied by his father Shankar Prasad and a medical team that followed him throughout the journey in an SUV.

Between Gangtok and Ghaziabad, Gupta met residents of several districts in West Bengal, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. Besides the Swachh Bharat campaign, Gupta is giving voice to the 'Organic Sikkim' campaign of the northeastern state and the fight against child abuse.

Abhishek was received by Resident Commissioner, Ashwini Chand, Additional Resident Commissioner, Monalisha Dash and Bhagwan Shanker upon his arrival at Sikkim Bhawan in the national capital.
