Christians of Sikkim to felicitate CM at All Sikkim Christian Summit

More than 50,000 Christians from across the State are expected to attend the All Sikkim Christian Summit [ASCS] 2018 scheduled to be held on 07 Feb at Jorethang playground in South Sikkim. This mega event will be chaired by Chief Minister Pawan Chamling as chief guest.
This was informed during a press conference of ASCS here today, which was addressed by working president, Satish Chandra Rai, vice-president, Patrus Gurung, and publicity secretary, Stephen Karki.
Addressing the press conference, the working president mentioned that all churches of Sikkim have come together to host this mega and historic event for the first time in the State. He added that the preparations are on to organise the event in a grand manner.
More than 50,000 leaders and members of different churches from across the State are expected to attend the summit, said Mr Rai.
He informed that ASCS will felicitate the CM on behalf of all Christians of Sikkim for his successful leadership and for his exemplary works in various sectors for Sikkim and its people. The CM will also be felicitating pastors of different churches of Sikkim on the occasion, he informed.
People of Sikkim have been practicing their respective religions and believe freely under the present government in the State, he added.
The summit will also have presentations by a 400-member choir team and by other Christian artists.
“On the occasion, we Christians of the State will pray together for peace, security and development of Sikkim and well-being of the people,” said Mr Rai.
It is informed that the main function will be followed by musical event in the evening.
