The first guardian meeting for the new academic session was held at Lingi Paiyong Secondary School on Tuesday which was attended by teachers, students, SMC members, Panchayat of Lingmoo Paiyong GPU, parents/guardians, advisors of school, informs a press release.
The meeting was chaired by Panchayat President, Yogesh Bhandari. The meeting saw the formation of a new School Managing Committee with Yogesh Bhandari being nominated as chairperson of the committee.
The meeting discussed various issues related to the holistic development of the students. Parents and guardians also expressed their views regarding student performance and developmental activities of the school.
The Headmaster of the school announced different projects and activities that would be taken up in the school in the coming days. The chairperson informed the house about various initiatives that will be taken up as the school, along with six others, has been adopted under the DAAV project.
The attendees of the meeting donated 70 plastic chairs to the school on the day, the release mentions.
A farewell programme was also organized for teachers who have been recently posted to different schools. Outgoing Headmaster, T R Adhikari announced cash reward of Rs. 5000 each to students who score more than 60% in the Class X board examination, the release informs.
On the sidelines of the programme, an inter-house community reading competition was also held among the students of Primary classes from III to V which was won by Gurudongmar House (Yellow). The programme was coordinated and conducted by teacher, C R Khatiwara.
