Dzongu prepares for CM’s North Sikkim visit
Mangan, 24 Mar:
In preparation for the upcoming visit of Chief Minister Pawan Chamlingto North Sikkim, a meeting was convened today for Dzongu constituency at Namprikdang guest house in Upper Dzongu, chaired by area MLA, Deputy SpeakerSonam Gyatso Lepcha, and attended by Panchayat members of 11 GPUs along with Sub Divisional Magistrate, Dzongu, Tshering Dorjee Bhutia, and Block Development Officer, Dzongu, KR Limboo.
Addressing the meeting, the area MLAurged Panchayats to take responsibility of presenting “genuine and need-based”demand petitions to the CM when he arrives.
“The Panchayat members should hold a meeting and prepare the demands GPU-wise and notindividually. Five Panchayats and Zilla members of each GPU should bring the demands under one fold and not ward-wise. People should be thankful to the CM for the developments that have been brought about in Dzongu,” said Mr Lepcha.
He also informed that the CM is scheduled to lay the foundation stone of the Munsolong Statue at Lingthem where a public meeting will also be held.
He urged all the Panchayats of Dzongu to have a coordination meet and help in setting up the pandal and seating arrangements for the same.
Earlier, former Zilla Adhyaksha, North, Anguli Lepcha,stressed on presenting few, but genuine demands.
