SAATHI teachers training concludes


Gangtok, 24 Mar:

Two days teachers training workshop on Drug Abuse Prevention in Schools, conducted by Sikkim Against Addiction Towards Healthy India [SAATHI] from 23 Mar, wrapped up today in Tadong, East Sikkim, a press release informs.

The program was attended by 60 teachers from 30 Government Senior Secondary Schools. The major objective of the workshop was to train teachers on SAATHI methodology, impart adequate knowledge on Drug Abuse Prevention in Schools, provide ample knowledge to teachers on medical aspects of drugs and basics of counselling and coping methods that can be implemented in schools to curb drug use among students.

The teachers were oriented on roles and responsibilities of SAATHI teacher coordinators.
