Ablaze at ICFAI wraps up with Governor and Mantra
Gangtok, 25 Mar:
The second edition of the ABLAZE event organised by ICFAI University, Sikkim, wrapped up today at Mannan Kendra here.
The valedictory function of the three-day long event was attended by Governor ShriniwasPatil as the chief guest.
Earlier, the Governor inaugurated the Career Counseling Cell and tree plantation unit at the university premises after which the function proceeded towards Mannan Kendra for the main event.
The Governor, in his address, urged the students to promote their skills and utilize the opportunities provided by the government. He talked about the further boost that employment opportunities in the Statewill receive with the establishment of Pakyong Airport and the upcoming railway project.
He further urged the students to utilize the State-wide organic movement and explore the options that Sikkim, as a tourism hub, provides by building companies and discovering startup ideas for a better future.
He concluded his address by congratulating the ICFAI University management team and students for making the event a grand success.
The Governor was accompanied by Vice Chancellor, Dr.JagannathPaitnaik, RegistrarSonamTsheringVechungpa, Special Officer, VivekPhadkar, faculty members and students.
The prize distribution ceremony was also held during the programmeduring which winners of various competitions held as part of Ablaze were presented with certificates.
The function wrapped up with a live performance of Nepali rock band, Mantra.
