A coordination meeting was held today at Lingthem Junior High School complex today regarding the upcoming visit of the Chief Minister scheduled for 04 Apr at Lingthem in Upper Dzongu. Today’s meeting was chaired by the area MLA, Deputy Speaker Sonam Gyatso Lepcha, and also attended by the District Magistrate [North], Superintendent of Police [North], Additional District Collector [Development], senior officers from various line departments, Panchayats and the general public of the area.
Tasks were distributed among the line departments for preparations and the Deputy Speaker directed all the stakeholders to coordinate efforts to make the CM’s visit to Upper Dzongu a grand success.
The Forest Department has been given the responsibility for construction of the main gate at Lingthem while the Roads& Bridges Department will be responsible for the maintenance of roads and car parking from Passingdang Zero to Lingthem and Passingdang to Mantam.
The Horticulture & Cash Crop Department has been tasked with stage decoration while the Power Department has been directed to ensure uninterrupted power supply and generator back-up.
Similarly, Sikkim Police will be maintaining law & order, traffic and engaging Fire Tenders. The Block Development Officer, Dzongu and his team will be responsible for providing uninterrupted water supply at the site.
The Building & Housing Department has been directed to complete the Munsolong statue on time and to decorate the pavilion on schedule.
The Joint Director, Human Resource Development Department [North] will be providing the school ground for the programme and the Health Department will be keeping doctors & ambulance in standby.
The Officer Commanding, 107 GREF, has been requested to provide manpower for maintaining and cleaning the roads from 02 Apr onwards from Sangkalang to CWC Zero Point before the arrival of the CM.
