ICFAI law students bag 2nd position at National Moot Court Competition

Gangtok, 29 Mar:

State moot team from School of Legal Studies, ICFAI University, Sikkim, has bagged the runner-up trophy at the 1st National Moot Court Competition, organised by Department of Law, University of North Bengal from 24-25 Mar at North Bengal University in Siliguri.

The State team comprised of Kazi Sangay Thupden [LLB-3rd Year], Arun Shreshta [LLB-1st year] and Lila Prasad Sharma [BBA-LLB-3rd year] accompanied by faculty guide/in-charge, Soni Subedi.

Twenty-two teams from various Universities of India had participated in the competition.

ICFAI University, Sikkim cleared two preliminary rounds with the highest points [79 pts] and the quarter and semi finals with second highest points [76 pts] and highest points [80 pts] respectively.

The finals were presided over by Judges of Calcutta High Court, Justice Protik Prakash Bannerjee and Justice Shekhar B Sharaf.

The Sikkim moot team won the runner-up trophy with Kazi Sangay Thupden receiving the award for the Best Speaker.
