Nadong eyes goals as Real Kashmir FC shines in I-League

Gangtok, 29 Mar:

Nadong Bhutia from Kalimpong is playing for Real Kashmir FC, Srinagar, in the second division I-League 2018 season. The 25-year-old plays as a winger and is also an optional striker for the team.

So far, Real Kashmir FC has played three I-League second division matches at Srinagar. The club has won two matches and drawn one.

Speaking over the phone, Nadong said that he is enjoying playing for Real Kashmir FC.

“The results so far have been good and I am happy with my performance in all the three matches. I have not scored a goal so far but have assisted in one goal for the team. I want to give my 100% and make a comeback in high levels of Indian football,” he said.

Last year, Nadong had signed for Minerva FC Punjab for the I-League first division 2017-18 season.

The Minerva FC went on to lift the I-League but Nadong Bhutia parted ways with the club in the middle of the season.

“I was not getting a chance to play certain matches due to my differences with the club owner. I sought release from the club as not playing was affecting my career. After terminating my contract, I joined Real Kashmir FC,” he clarified.

Nadong had previously played for United Sikkim FC and then Atletico de Kolkata in the first ISL season. He was grounded by injury for almost a year. After recovering from injury, he went to Bhutan to play the premier league there. Then he signed for Minerva FC, Punjab after recovering 100% from injury.
