UCWSS arranges special screening of ‘Back to Dad’

Gangtok, 31 Mar:

A Hindi feature film, ‘Back to Dad,’ based in the religious ethos of Christianity, has received a big thumbs-up from audiences here. The United Christian Welfare Society of Sikkim [UCWSS] had organised a special screening of the film as a part of the pre-Easter celebration here at Mannan Kendra on Saturday.

The film has been presented under the banner of Annora Films and is directed by Prabhat Kumar from Mumbai and produced by Anup Gadal from Siliguri.

The film is based on the parable of the ‘Prodigal Son’ from the Bible and has a 2:20 hour runtime through which it seeks to convey a message underlining the importance of the family to the young.

Around 80% of artists in the film are from Sikkim and 40% of the shooting was done at locations across the State.

The special screening had Sikkim Kalakar Sangh president, CL Ghimirey, as a special guest among other dignitaries from Delhi, Mumbai and Siliguri. The film screening was also attended by pastors, leaders and members of various churches from in and around Gangtok.
