SAATHI conducts refresher camp for students at IHCAE

Gangtok, 02 Apr:

Sikkim against Addiction towards Healthy India [SAATHI], in its endeavour against substance use, organised a refresher camp for students at Indian Himalayan Centre of Adventure and Eco-Tourism [IHCAE] in Chemchey, South Sikkim from 29 Mar-04 Apr.

A press release informs that 10 participants each from 10 schools namely Lingmoo-Kothang Sr Sec School, Lingee Sr Sec School, MangalBaria Sr Sec School, Kaluk Sr Sec School, Middle Camp Sec School, Ranka Sr Sec School, Hee Gyathang Sr Sec School, Mangshila Sr Sec School, Chujachen Sr Sec School and Lingdok Sr Sec School participated in the camp.

Resource person, Ashish Bangdel took a session on life skills while another resource person, Pranit Manger, conducted a session on medical aspects of drugs.

Experiences on drug use, habits and impact stories were shared by KC Nima of Freedom Rehabilitation. Station House Officer, Rangpo Police Station, Bikash Tiwari, took a session on legal aspects of drugs while trained teacher co-ordinator from Mangalbaria Sr Sec School, PB Chettri, conducted session on the basics of counselling.

Physical activities and team building activities like treasure hunt were also included in the programme for encouraging leadership skills.
