Bengal bleeds, alleges former Railway Minister Mukul Roy

Siliguri, 05 Apr:

Ex-Trinamool Congress leader and former Railway Minister of India, Mukul Roy, landed at Bagdogra Airport here this afternoon.

The now BJP affiliated leader, while addressing the press at the airport complex, said ‘Bengal bleeds’.

“The system is crippled. It has collapsed. We are seeing that ruling party forcefully stopping others from contesting in the upcoming Panchayat polls. Concerned officials should resign if they fail to resolve this disorder,” Mr Roy added.

He informed that BJP will approach the Central Governor for intervention if the situation in ground remains unchanged in the State.

Commenting on the TMC-Kamtapur Progressive Party [KPP] coalition for the upcoming Panchayat polls, Mr Roy mentioned that there is nothing new in the development. A similar coalition was struck in the Lok Sabha polls earlier, he pointed out.

“As for the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha [GJM], they were our allies in the Lok Sabha polls. Let them decide if they want to walk with us or not,” he added.
