Rangpo boy wins Zonal poetry recital competition

Ketan Mangla of Rangpo, East Sikkim, has secured the first position at the Zonal level poetry recital competition organised by Rastriya Kavi Sangam at Guwahati in Assam on 08 Apr, a press release informs.
Organised with the aim to provide platform and to encourage students of school and colleges of North East India, 15 students from NE had participated in the event with Ketan representing Sikkim.
Ketan was awarded with cash prize Rs 5100 along with certificate and gift hampers handed by Governor of Meghalaya, Ganga Prasad, who was the chief guest for the valedictory programme.
It may be mentioned here, Ketan is a product of Basibiyalo, a monthly literary/culture forum based in Singtam. Besides participating in various poetry recital programmes in the State, this was Ketan’s first time in a Zonal level competition.
