A daylong seminar on “Prospective Issues of Minorities in Sikkim: Retrospective and the Prospect” was organized by Primitive Tribe Welfare Board, Department of Social Justice, Empowerment & Welfare, Government of Sikkim, at Passingdang BAC in Upper Dzongu, North Sikkim on 10 Apr.
The seminar was sponsored by Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India under Research/Studies, Monitoring and Evaluation of Development Schemes including Publicity.
Chairperson of Transport Department, Government of Sikkim, Pintso Namgyal Lepcha, attended the programme as chief guest along with Joint Director, Human Resource Development Department, Sonam Lepcha, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Dzongu, TD Bhutia, Senior Welfare Officer, North, Norden Lepcha, and Radha Chettri as resource persons.
Also present for the occasion were Zilla/Gram Panchayats of all the seven GPUs under Dzongu Sub Division, senior citizens, government officials, school heads and teachers.
