Paichan Foundation demands training on proper handling of national flag for students


Gangtok, 11 Apr:

A recently-formed organisation, Paichan Foundation, has raised the demand for provision of practical training for students of government and private schools of the country on proper handling and hoisting of the national flag.

The organisation has also demanded for provision of national flags for free at every corner of the country on Independence Day and Republic Day.

It is informed that Paichan Foundation president, Mizoram Subba, sat on a hunger strike from 23 Mar to 04 Apr at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi and also submitted a memorandum of his two-point demand in the Prime Minister’s Office on 04 Apr.

Addressing a press conference here today, Mr Subba informed that the PMO has assured to reply within 15 days.

He also expressed that the sale of the national flag in shops should be restricted and that it should available free of cost in the country. He stated that the Central government should implement laws for the same.

The press conference was also attended by vice-president, Rakesh Subba, secretary, Asar Singh Subba, treasurer, Diki Bhutia and coordinator, Anu Prasad.
