Seven lactating milch cows along with their calves were distributed with three years insurance coverage at Singithang cluster under Mickhola-Singithang Gram Panchayat Unit in South Sikkim under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana 2017-18 today, a press release from District Collector [South] informs.
The beneficiaries were also provided with packs of mineral vitamins, dewormer and anti-stress tonic. The aim of the program is to uplift the economic condition of farmers through dairy production in line with Sikkim Organic Mission, it is informed.
The beneficiaries were also briefed on management skills for good health and enhanced milk production from the cows.
Chairperson [State Medicinal Board], Lakpa Ghising, accompanied by Area Panchayat, former panchayat members department officials attended the programme.
