Gangtok, 15 Apr:
The closing ceremony of Sir Thutob Namgyal Memorial Hospital’s 100 years centenary celebration was held here today.
Health Minister AK Ghatani attended the programme as the chief guest along with Member of Parliament [Lok Sabha], PD Rai, as guest of honor. Also on the day, the hospital felicitated 52 retired staff members.
Addressing the closing ceremony, Mr Ghatani thanked the hospital and all who have been part of it for 100 years of service to the Sikkimese people. He congratulated the hospital staff and the administrative board for working together and saving thousands of lives.
He applauded the efforts of the hospital in making Sikkim a healthy State and taking care of the sick and needy people.
He thanked all the retired staff members for their contributions and wished them luck for their future endeavors.
Mr Rai, in his address, applauded the hospital doctors, nurses, staff members and the administrative board for their services.
Earlier, STNM Hospital Medical Superintendent, Dr KB Gurung, addressed the gathering.
The event was attended by Health Department Secretary, Vishal Chauhan, hospital staff along with senior retired staff members.
