The 17th Chief Minister’s Gold Cup Archery Tournament 2018 officially kickedoff today at Sikkim Archery Association [SAA] archery field in Tathangchen.
17 teams from Sikkim, West Bengal and Bhutan are participating in the tournament organized by the SAA.
In the inaugural match, Sichey registered a convincing win over Penden Cement from Bhutan 102 points to 04.
The inaugural function of the tournament was attended by former MLA, Kunga Zangpo Bhutia, as the chief guest, while Sikkim Olympic Association member, BK Roka, was present as the guest of honor along with SAA president, TT Bhutia, and other executive members.
On Monday, Namchi will take on Garuda Blue in the second match of the tournament.
Other participating teams are Kabi-Lungchok, Garuda Red, Navey, Mangan, Maenamla, Red Bull and Sotak from Sikkim, Todhay Jorbas and Bhutia Youth Kalimpong from West Bengal and Samtse, Southern Bulls, Holiday and Yangtse Tours & Travels from Bhutan.
The winning team of the tournament will receive cash prize of Rs 01 lakh with trophy while the runner-up team will receive cash prize of Rs 50,000 with trophy.
