After M/s Pristine Life Sciences pharma company situated opposite Bhanu Park, NH-10, Singtam, East Sikkim, faced closure, a second pharma company in Sikkim has been served notice for immediate closure for allegedly violating air and water pollution while the company's license to operate was also cancelled on 20 Apr, last week.
The Health Department has cancelled the license of M/s Savi Health Science Pharmaceutical company at Majitar, Rangpo, East Sikkim, stating that there is serious non-compliance of the provisions laid under the schedule-M of the Drugs & Cosmetics Rules 1945.
The Health Department Secretary, in the closure order, has said, "You are directed to discard all the processed tablets, capsules & sterile products as per Sikkim Pollution Control Board norms with intimation to the office of the undersigned.”
During an inspection by the State Pollution Control Board officials following High Court directions found that the said M/s Savi Health Science Pharmaceutical Company at Majitar, Rangpo had not followed norms as prescribed and had suspended their operation since 10 Mar, last month.
M/s Savi Pharmaceutical company has two units in Sikkim under the name and banner M/s Savi Health Science and M/s Savi Health Care both have been ordered to suspend operations for violating air and water pollution norms.
