LTVC meets Tribal Affairs Minister on L-T seat reservation


Gangtok, 25 Apr:

A team of Limboo Tamang Voluntary Committee [LTVC] including LTVC president, Yehang Tshong, general secretary, Prazal Tshong, joint secretary, Kishor Tamang, and member, Dechen Tamang, met with Union Minister of Tribal Affairs, Jual Oram, at his office in Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi today and submitted a reminder letter regarding the delay in Limboo-Tamang Assembly seat reservation in Sikkim, a press release informs.

The LTVC team also submitted a three-point memorandum, “Memorial of Limboo Tribe”, which the LTVC had earlier submitted to Sikkim’s Governor, Chief Minister, Chief Secretary and Home Secretary.

The three-point memorandum includes grant of indigenous primitive status to Limboo tribe, amendment of Revenue Order No.1 to include Limboo and restoration of lost Tshong seat.

Mr Oram has assured to look into both the matters positively.
