Cricket Association of Bengal to offer exchange programmes for NE players


Gangtok, 04 May:

President of Cricket Association of Bengal [CAB], Saurav Ganguly, who is also chairperson of the Technical Committee of Board of Control for Cricket in India [BCCI] called a meeting on 03 Apr in Kolkata to discuss development in Cricket and exchange programmes between CAB and North East States. The meeting was jointly chaired by Mr Ganguly and chairperson of New Areas Development Programme [NADP], Avishek Dalmiya, a press release informs.

President of Sikkim Cricket Association [SCA], Lobzang G Tenzing, SCA general secretary, Sonam Palden Bhutia, and other representatives from six NE States attended the meeting.

During the meet, Mr Ganguly emphasised on having a route map for cricketing facilities especially sand based cricket ground, coaches grooming programmes, longer version Tournament [2/3 days] matches in NE States and also offered exchange programme with Cricket Association of Bengal involving tournaments at Kolkata in Nov/Dec.

He also discussed about having a special vision programme for 30 selected players, 05 each from NE States, and extended full support in other aspects of the game, the release adds.
