SKM holds monthly meet at Rhenock

Gangtok, 06 May:

Sikkim Krantikari Morcha conducted its monthly meeting at Reshi under Rhenock constituency in East Sikkim today, a press release from the party informs.

Chaired by LN Poudyal and PS Karki, the meeting was attended by party officials, supporters, student front members, Constituency Level Committee members and the public.

The youth body of the party for Rhenock constituency was also formed during the meeting.

Suk Bir Bhujel was appointed as the CLC youth convener while Madhav Gautam was appointed the new CLC coordinator, the release informs, adding that the youth body comprises of 65 active members.

Various issues including corruption, communalism, favoritism and nepotism were discussed in detail by the speakers.

SKM youth wing general secretary, Shadev Sharma talked about youth empowerment in Sikkim and criticized the Sikkim Democratic Front for ‘playing with the future and sentiments of youths’.

SKM party member Karma Tashi Bhutia strongly criticized the State Government’s education policy and slammed the SDF party for not ‘pushing hard’ to speed up construction of the Sikkim University campus.

Jacob Khaling highlighted the principles and ideologies of SKM party. He briefed the party workers about the future plans of SKM party and urged them to work honestly for the benefit of Sikkimese people.

Talking about Nepali seat reservation issue, he slammed Chief Minister Pawan Chamling for ‘his failure to restore Nepali seat reservation during his many tenures as the Chief Minister of the State.’
