Helpline desk for tourists set up at various locations in Kalimpong district

Kalimpong, 07 May:

Kalimpong Police have set up a helpline desk at various locations of Kalimpong district including Thana Dara, Lava, Pedong, Rambi, Teesta Bazaar, Labarbotay and Rangpoo in order to guide the tourists with authentic information.

“The basic problem in Kalimpong begins with interrupted communication as network connections of most of the servers are poor here. Once the mode of communication is hindered, the tourists have to experience hassles in a new place,” the district police expressed.

“We have seen the harassments that the tourists face. Because of lack of communication, sometimes tourists get stranded. There are many police check posts and outposts in our district and the tourist helpline will be available in most of the places,” said Superintendent of Police, Kalimpong, Dhurva Jyoti De.

It is informed that the helpline will be open from morning to evening every day. A threefold pamphlet bearing important phone numbers and a list of “must-visit” local destinations will also be distributed to the tourists.

The SP further said that if any tourists face any kind of problem during their visit to Kalimpong, the Police Department, in any circumstance, will be ready to help them.
