State Govt needs to draw its attention to STNM’s poor conditions: BJP
Gangtok, 08 May:
A delegation of Bharatiya Janata Party Sikkim Pradesh led by its president, DB Chauhan, visited STNM Hospital in Gangtok today. The party president was accompanied by BJP Sikkim youth president, Laten Sherpa, East District president, YT Lepcha, and other leaders.
A BJP press release informs that during the visit, it was revealed that patients in Emergency and other wards in STNM Hospital have not been getting proper treatment as the situation of the hospital was in ‘pathetic’ condition and that the doctors and nurses have been giving treatment and services to the patients on the floor.
The release stated that STNM Hospital has recently celebrated its centenary and has been providing services to Sikkim and its people selflessly. However, it has not been getting proper support from the ruling governments so far.
The STNM Hospital has reached a ‘pathetic condition’ in 24 years of SDF Government and the announcements of the ruling party in health sectors are limited to the time of elections only, the release added.
The party further alleged that the Health Department of the State has presently been running on the support of National Rural Health Mission of the Central Government.
The BJP, in the release, has suggested the State Government to start working in the interest of Sikkim and its people.
