Meeting held for production & marketing of ‘Stevia’ herbal medicinal plant at Singhik

Mangan, 12 May:

New Delhi-based Stevia Biotech Private Limited conducted a meeting at Singhik tourist guest house at Mangan in North Sikkim today regarding production and marketing of ‘Stevia’ herbal medicinal plant in the presence of Managing Director, Stevia Biotech Pvt Ltd, Sourabh Agarwal, Coordinators, Stevia Life [North Sikkim], Tenzing Lepcha and Namdup Lepcha, Panchayats and farmers.

Managing Director, Stevia Biotech Pvt Ltd, Mr Agarwal, laid down the details of Stevia herbal medicinal plant cultivation, marketing and the finishing products’ importance for diabetic patients and for developing immune system which controls several diseases.

“The Stevia products are being used by America and Japan and more than 6000 products of Stevia powder composition have already been launched. Stevia Biotech Pvt Ltd factory is setup at Himachal Pradesh and Stevia Life products have already been launched in markets. Unemployed youths of Dzongu, North Sikkim had already approached Chief Minister Pawan Chamling and Deputy Speaker, SLA cum area MLA, Sonam Gyatso Lepcha for farming, cultivation and marketing of the Stevia plant wherein the CM and Mr Lepcha had appreciated the plans placed by the youths of Dzongu. I came here to place the details for farming process and marketing from farmers of North Sikkim. Farmers should register their names under the leadership of coordinator, Tenzing Lepcha, at the earliest as the region is very much suitable for organic Stevia herbal plant farming and production,” Mr Agarwal informed.
