Gangtok, 13 May:
41-year-old Buddha Singh Subba from Yuksam, West Sikkim has been organising Dzongri-Goechala trek for 20 years now. Buddha has a group of people under him including porters, guides to look after the needs of hikers and travelers looking to explore the famous mountain pass.
Buddha also owns a number of yaks and horses to carry essentials like food, tents and other items necessary for the trek.
“We have done four treks this season and the season is coming to end for this half of the year. We hope to have more treks during the second season later this year,” he informed.
Buddha conducts seven to eight trips in a year.
When SummitTimes caught up with Buddha, he was making final preparations for a group of 10 domestic tourists looking to trek the wild Goechala trek.
