Siliguri, 16 May:
Northeast Frontier Railway has decided to run 12 trips of a special train between New Jalpaiguri and Howrah via Siliguri Junction-Bagdogra and back in a bid to ease the rush of passenger on the route.
The special train bearing number 03060 will leave from New Jalpaiguri every Wednesday from 23 May to 27 June [6 trips] while the special train bearing number 03059 will leave from Howrah every Tuesday from 22 May to 26 June [6 trips].
The special train will have three AC tiers, eleven sleeper classes and two general second class cum luggage coaches. It will leave from New Jalpaiguri at 10:15 PM to reach Howrah at 11:45 AM the next day.
Likewise, the special train will leave from Howrah at 10:50 PM to arrive at New Jalpaiguri at 01:05 PM the next day. The train will stop at Siliguri Junction, Bagdogra, Naksalbari, Thakurganj, Aluabari Road, Kishanganj, Malda Town, Rampurhat, Barddhaman, and Bandel stations during its journey on both ways.
It may be mentioned here, NF Railway has been running special trains to various locations depending on demand and availability. Last year, a total of 1,387 trips of special trains were run creating more than 24 lakhs additional berths.
