ThingchimSchool bids farewell to headmistress and transferred teachers

Mangan, 18 May:

Thingchim Secondary School, North Sikkim, bid farewell to its former headmistress in a function held at the school premises today.

ChungkipoLepcha had retired as the headmistress of Thingchim Secondary School last year after serving as an educator for 40 years.

Apart from MsLepcha, three other teachers who were recently transferred from the school were also given a grand farewell.

The function was attended by Deputy Speaker, Sikkim Legislative Assembly cum MLA [Dzongu], SonamGyatsoLepcha as the chief guest along with Additional Director [Human Resource Development Department], SonamLepcha, Additional District Collector[Dev] Mangan, KR Limbooand Upadhakysha[North],TheneyBhutia.

The public, panchayats, teachers, students and other dignitaries felicitated the outgoing teachers in the function with garlands and presents.

Additional Director [HRDD North], SonamLepcha and ADC [Dev], KR Limboo were also felicitated for their recent promotions.

SonamLepcha previously served as Joint-Director in HRDD while KR Limboo was the former Block Development Officer of Dzongu.

Headmaster, GK Limbooin his address put forth the school’sneed of a two-storey building and a community hall.

The chief guest in his address congratulated MsLepcha for serving the State as a teacher and educating children.

Responding to the demands placed by the headmaster, the Deputy Speaker assured that the demands will sanctioned soon. He also highlighted the series of development activities undertaken by the government in Dzongu and North district as a whole.

He further urged the gathered locals to stand in unity to bring the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa UgyenTrinleyDorje to Sikkim and prepare for his arrival.

Highlighting the issue of LimbooTamangAssembly seat reservation, he said that the government is working hard to fulfill the demand of the two communities.
