24hours Inspired held a daylong leadership engagement programme, ‘Young Leaders Conclave,’ for 108 prefects and captains from five senior secondary schools across Gangtok on 19 May, a press release informs.
School prefects and captains from Modern Senior Secondary School, Sir Tashi Namgyal Senior Secondary School, West Point Senior Secondary School, Tadong Senior Secondary School and Deorali Girls Senior Secondary School attended the conclave.
The conclave aimed at honing the leadership skills of the prefects.
Speaking about the conclave, Chief Learning Officer, 24hours Inspired, Dewaker Basnet, informed the participants that the workshop aimed to educate the prefects about the responsibilities that come with wearing a badge or becoming a leader.
“This is the sixth year of the programme, and over the years we believe that we have been able to make some positive difference through this programme,” Mr Basnet said.
District Magistrate [East], Kapil Meena, who attended the event as the chief guest, urged the students to strive and become role models for others and also briefed them about the different aspects of the civil services. He further informed them about requirements and shared tips on how to prepare for competitive examinations.
School captain, Modern Senior Secondary School, Sonam Tshering, offered his feedback on the program and said that it has motivated him to recognize his responsibilities as a leader and promised to spread the idea of leadership among his school mates.
Young Leaders Conclave is the leadership initiative of 24hours Inspired and till date has reached out to 500+ schools across India and abroad.
